While attending World Domination Summit over the past weekend, I had the opportunity to confront the fire of shame that fuels my worry. Since I returned, I’ve been caught up in potential shame that has been inflicted upon me by someone else, without any basis as to the reason they are throwing shame my way. I have no idea what I’ve done, nor that I did anything. Yet as I sat in this space of unknowing, I realized that the words of Vanessa Van Edwards, one of the WDS speakers, really rang true for me – “Shame fuels the fire of worry!”
I feel shame that I have offended someone, even though I have no idea what I did to this person. So now I share my thoughts on shame, worry, and communication. Hope it helps someone out there listening to douse the fire of your own shame, to get over your worry, and to stand up and communicate clearly what you need from others so that hopefully they will communicate clearly what they need from you rather than hiding in a passive aggressive state of non-communication.
