Episode 029: Camouflage, Big Gay Ice Cream, and Coming Out…Oh MY! – Chris Brogan

What happens when the guy named one of the Must Follow Marketing Minds of 2014 shows up on the air of the coming out lounge? Dot’s get connected, and the homogenized way of being in the world get’s thrown out the door.  Enter a big diva in his own right, without the swelled ego to show for it, Chris Brogan!

Author, speaker, and quirky entrepreneur, Chris explores how people use their desire to belong to build thriving businesses and lives. Highly sought after as a professional speaker, this New York Times bestselling author of eight books and counting, was once a nerdy nerd when it wasn’t cool to be a nerdy nerd. Consider that the start of his own coming out to be authentically who he is and always will be.

Through all his fame, Chris stays grounded, knowing he’s gotten where he has because he was weird and let his weirdness shine through. Kind of ironic to see the power of being who you are – WEIRD – lands  you in front of corporate audiences the likes of  Disney, Coke, Google, GM, Microsoft, Coldwell Banker, Titleist, Scotts, Humana Health, Cisco, Sony USA, and many more. And let’s not forget to mix in that he’s rubbed elbows with Dr. Phil Show, Richard Branson, and Tony Robbins.

Yep, that guy joins us this week on the Coming Out Lounge, because his momma taught him to share – his perspective on life on planet earth – in and out of the closets we all have in common.

In addition to being  globe-trotting, super nerd, Chris lives in northern Massachusetts, with his better half is Jacqueline Carly. Between the two of them, Chris has two great kids and Jacq has one. He has a loving and fun pair of parents, as well, who’ve come out, embraced and accepted that their nerdy nerd son is now one of the coolest, hippest, humans making the planet a better place.
