His dedication to the art form of film, TV and acting is testament to the fact that you can be an out gay man of color and your star can shine brightly. Today we, Daniel Armando an award-winning Executive Producer/Director/Writer, and myself explore film making, daddy issues, and being gay men in the fabulous world of Indie filmmaking.

Novo Novus Productions is an award winning multimedia production focused on producing film, web, and theatre content that highlights the LGBTQ community of color.

Recent work includes three seasons of the pioneering hit comedy web series DRAMA QUEENZ (soon to make its network premiere on OutTV), the acclaimed feature WHAT IT WAS (Frameline, OutFest, Urbanworld film festivals), the award-winning BOYS LIKE YOU (Best Short, North Carolina LGBTQ Film Festival, currently distributed through Guest House Films), and the soon to be released feature films SUBWAYS, DADDY’S BOYS, and THE BREEDING. Other notable work includes the critically acclaimed docu web series FADE IN (about homeless LGBTQ youth in New York City), and the award-winning play REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH.

Daniel Armando is the award-winning Executive Producer/Director/Writer of such acclaimed works as Boys Like You (winner “Best Male Short,” North Carolina Int’l Gay and Lesbian Film Festival) and What it Was (Official Selection Urbanworld, Outfest, Outfest Fusion, and Frameline film festivals), and the upcoming feature Daddy’s Boys. As a theater artist, he has toured both nationally and internationally. Notable credits include Fame (European Tour) and Captain Louie(National Tour).
