If you aren’t having fun and thinking you aren’t creative, then you’re in good company. Most of us forget to have fun. Life gets in the way, demands take over, and before you know it work, eat, sleep; work, eat, sleep; work, eat, sleep. The hamster wheel is on high speed and we glaze over and settle for “this is life!” As the mundane sets in, we start to lose our vision, and any chance of being creative in any area of life is a joke. Yet, all we need to do is allow ourselves to break past these beliefs…
- There’s no room for fun
- I’m not the least bit creative
- Who has time for fun?
- What’s creativity got to do with it?
Low and behold, you might just need to step out of your box, and see what can happen when you cut the crap and just go for being uncomfortable. Fun, creativity, and getting out of your box and off the hamster wheel is on you, and you are in control. So what can you do about?
Here’s my observations that came up while leading an outdoor team building experience with a group of engineers from The Wonderful Company. They broke out of their shells, played like kids, got creative beyond what they thought possible, and found that being uncomfortable really is a lesson in and of itself for finding what’s missing in their lives.
